Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean has admitted she does not like her late father's music.
The 22-year-old was speaking publicly for the first time ahead of the release of a documentary about the Nirvana frontman.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Cobain was asked about what it is like listening to her father's songs.
"I don't really like Nirvana that much. Sorry, promotional people, Universal. I'm more into Mercury Rev, Oasis, Brian Jonestown Massacre," she said.
Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck covers the life of the 27-year-old and his death in 1994 and is the first film to be made with the co-operation of his family.
Despite being just a baby when her father killed himself, Cobain says she has come to understand why he made the decision.
"Kurt got to the point where he eventually had to sacrifice every bit of who he was to his art, because the world demanded it of him. I think that was one of the main triggers as to why he felt he didn't want to be here and everyone would be happier without him.
"In reality, if he had lived, I would have had a dad. And that would have been an incredible experience."
The making of the documentary has reunited Cobain with her mother Courtney Love - the pair were photographed together on a red carpet in January.
They were reportedly estranged for around five years following a feud.
Cobain said she was 15 when she realised that being the musician's daughter was "inescapable".
"He became even bigger after he died than he was when he was alive. You don't think it could have gotten any bigger. But it did."
