A woman has been arrested in Sweden on suspicion of keeping her daughters locked in an apartment for more than 10 years.
A neighbour of the 59-year-old suspect told Expressen newspaper that one of the now adult women escaped from the apartment in the southern town Bromoella and asked for the police to be called.
The woman is said to have claimed she and her sister had been locked up for more than a decade.
The neighbour added: "The blinds were always pulled down there and we haven't heard any noise from the apartment."
Speaking to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, an eyewitness said: "One of the young women was led out of the apartment, she could barely walk by herself."
It is thought that the woman moved her daughters between different locations to try and keep them away from their father.
Police are questioning the woman and her children.
