Lorry Rips Through Tunnel After Blunder

Video has emerged of a lorry dramatically crashing in a Sydney tunnel after its driver accidentally hit the wrong lever.

The footage shows the vehicle's container lifting upwards and ripping into the roof of the M3 tunnel during morning rush hour.

The New South Wales Roads Minister Duncan Gay told Australian media that the lorry's tipping mechanism was activated after the driver accidentally knocked the controls as he leaned down to pick up his glasses.

All of the city-bound lanes of the tunnel were closed as emergency workers removed the vehicle and cleared debris from the road.
